After being doxxed by a fascist Twitter account, a fellow worker at CED was fired for her anti-racism and anti-colonialism work. She sacrificed her time away from work to do something she believed in. And what was her reward? The loss of her livelihood. We call for CED to end their reprehensible action against our fellow worker and to–which should be an easy choice–ignore online fascists.
But CED has not given in to the demand for an equitable workplace, a workplace where employees are free to pursue their interests and own activities outside of work. No, instead of supporting their employee, CED gave in to the far-right, to the likes of Thierry Baudet and others who call for the abject ruin of anyone who calls for the removal of a 300-year old statue of a long-dead colonizer. In this way CED has further contributed to the doxxing and humiliation of one of their own. Do you need any other reason for why workplace solidarity is more important than the false lie of ‘we’re all a family here’?
Our friends at Vloerwerk have been spearheading a campaign to bring this injustice to light and to assist our injured fellow worker. With them leading the way, we have engaged in several corona-proof actions against CED.
There are several more actions planned in the future. If you’re interested in helping out, check out vloerwerk.org or contact us.
We stand in solidarity with all workers of the world.
